The Platform

Demand forecasting built for Tier-2 supply chains

Lean Path reads assembly pull signals from your Tier-1 customers and converts them into forward demand at the parts level, so your planners can act before shortages form.

Overview

Signal-to-forecast in one platform

Tier-2 suppliers operate two or three tiers away from the assembly plant. By the time demand shifts appear in your purchase orders, the window to respond has already narrowed. Lean Path shortens that gap by translating upstream pull signals into supplier-level forecasts before orders arrive.

  • Signal ingestion Pull schedule and production volume data from Tier-1 customers, received via EDI or structured file exchange.
  • AI translation layer A model trained on your supply chain converts assembly-plant signals into part-number level demand, accounting for BOM ratios, lead times, and historical patterns.
  • Planner-ready output Forecasts are delivered as rolling horizon tables, exportable to your ERP or accessible through the planning dashboard.

Forecast engine

Three layers that work together

The Lean Path model is trained on your supply chain specifically, not on generic demand patterns from other industries or markets.

BOM-aware decomposition

Assembly pull signals are translated through your bill-of-materials structure to produce part-number level demand. Changes in vehicle model mix are reflected automatically as the BOM evolves.

Continuous model retraining

The model is retrained on a rolling basis as new order and shipment data arrives. Forecast accuracy improves over time as the model learns your supply chain's specific demand patterns.

Variance alerts

When forecast-to-actual divergence exceeds your defined thresholds, the system flags those part numbers for review. Planners spend time on the exceptions, not the full catalog.

Data inputs

What Lean Path reads

The platform works with structured data your customers already generate. No new tracking infrastructure is required on your side.

  • Assembly production schedules Daily and weekly build plans from Tier-1 customers, received as EDI 830 or equivalent structured format. This is the primary upstream signal.
  • Delivery schedule releases Short-range confirmed delivery windows that supplement the longer-range forecast horizon and improve near-term accuracy.
  • Historical shipment records Your own order and shipment history, used during model training to calibrate the signal-to-demand translation for your specific part mix.
  • Bill-of-materials data Your BOM structure, imported once and updated when models change. This is what allows assembly volume changes to flow through to part-level demand.
  • Inventory positions Current stock levels, used to generate net requirements alongside gross demand and to identify over-supply situations before they compound.
